"You backed up my point with your second paragraph, "game library focused on a very broad audience". Hand helds are usually more popular with casual gamers from what I've seen, hence why so many people chose a DS over a psp. The psp advertised to more of a "gamer" crowd, the people who usually would just play at home on a larger screen. The lack of a broad range of games caused those who tend to buy handhelds not to be interested. "

kinda brings it to the point i constantly make ... that the ps vita should and needs to port ps3 games... it needs more then just over priced psp games and the very few ps vita tittles ( yes i said very few ) that are good.

If you don't like it, don't hack your ps vita and just deal with it.

What I am seeing in this thread disturbs me.

I'm new to this forum, but to anyone who has visited PSP-stuff.com or nextpsphacks.com back in the day you might remember me as the site adminitrator.

It seems everyone here is under the misconception that fully unlocking a portable system ruins the appeal of said system.

Let me start back with the original PSP, a technically limited device pushed out and sold as nothing more than simple entertainment.
That's not what your 'hackers' saw. They saw a computer that fit in the palm of your hand with capabilities beyond the imaginations of even the people who created it. Some brave souls ventured into the territory of pushing the boundaries and taking the PSP to epic heights. Unlocking the devices potential, peeling off the dull plastic shell and revealing the mysterious and fun-filled platform hidden beneath. Do you not remember the communities it produced? The endless forums of discussion between smart and capable people working together to provide for you? The people who proved that those high-paid Sony developers are nothing more than we are, just with flashier tools? Or did you just not ever look into that world, choosing to label us from afar as the four horsemen of the PSPocalypse?

And now the PS Vita. A quad-core computing wonderland that remains just as compact. Would you expect that the desire to unlock such a device would die away? No my friends, it has only grown to match the possibilities that have steeped inside us since our first hearing of the VIta. Picture a future where 'Augmented Reality' goes beyond the simple visions of finding your next match. How about using our newfound touch interfaces to manipulate 3D objects like even Sony hadn't imagined. Would you rather contain yourself to swallowing the Sony pill of obedience and burn out the existence of these humble geniuses? The ones who provide you homebrew, when you can't afford the latest game. The ones who squash the bugs, when Sony denies their existence. The ones made up of people like us, striving to fit into a community and do our part in making it better.

I know some of you are afraid of this being the beginning of the end for your newfound enjoyment. Rest assured, that will only come at Sony's hand.
When they decide to stop making games, you better believe we'll be cranking out our own. When you ask for it, you better believe we'll deliver.

To some of you I'm just preaching to the choir. To others I only spout blasphemy, but I represent a method of thinking that welcomes all understandings..

Freedom to do as you please.

Shun me, ban me, label me as a miscreant if you must. I only speak the truth you may not want to hear.

    Thank you for your time.
