Totally deserved it 100%. When you lose 10 out of your last 11 games, something needs to be done. Toronto's slipping, it was in the playoff picture for a while, but that losing streak has dropped them down in the standings by a lot. When the fans start to chant,"Fire Wilson" it's probably going to happen. Hopefully Carlyle can do a better job than Wilson in Toronto!

Is this a real question? I agree with the Toronto not having an NBA team, but NHL? My question is why does the states have 80 percent of the teams in the NHL.

Vancouver is one of the best teams in Hockey. The problem with the NHL is that Gary Bettman ( one of the biggest assholes in the world) worked under David Stern for many years. He wanted to turn the NHL into the same kind of money powerhouse that the NBA is. They expanded way to far south in the states where hockey is not the least bit popular and have lost tons of money, these teams should have been put in Canada where communities would support the team to no end.

Toronto Montreal Boston New York Detroit Chicago. These were the only teams in the NHL for its first 40+ years. One of the main reasons the NHL continues to not expand into Canada is because they say we dont have the population for it which is bullshit. Winnipeg has a population of less the a 700k, yet they have sold out the first few seasons.

i see how you could be mad for having so many teams in the US, just like the NBA there are teams that should be in other cities like the Clippers, Raptors, Nets

Money wise though Toronto can support a NBA team, there are MANY cities in the US who cannot support an NHL team.

It's ridiculous that most teams are in the states. Hockey is hardly popular anywhere else than Canada. And yes, Vancouver is one of the best teams in the NHL. First in the league right now, went to the Stanley Cup finals last year.. THATS MY TEAM! :)

canadians must have been happy when the thrashers went to winnipeg, the atlanta spirit group is the worst group of owners, didnt care about the thrashers or the hawks, i hope they sell the hawks to someone who cares and wants the team in atlanta

Yea, I meant more in the states and stuff it's not AS popular as Canada. I'm pretty sure, within the next couple of years, Quebec will be getting a team back aswell!

Quebec City should def get a team back. Had the Avalanche not moved Canada would have had a cup in the early 2000s :(

There are quite a bit that I can see will shutdown ( maybe not move to Canada). Phoenix is owned by the NHL so I dont see them moving, but I can see Florida, Nashville being the two most likely. I would also say the Dallas is also in trouble but who knows.

Phoenix is unlikely because they have a new arena that's in AMAZING shape. Still bringing in the cash. Florida might be moving, but I think Nashville's pretty safe. They're a playoff team which always brings fans out to watch.
