Naughty Dog Details The Last of Us Demonstration, Releases New Screens

Itching to know more about Naughty Dog’s upcoming post-apocalyptic action title The Last of Us? Well you’ve come to the right place, as the developer has just released a handful of brand-new screenshots alongside a detailed description of the demo that was shown to Game Informer a few weeks back.

The full rundown on the entire demonstration can be found on the PS Blog, but I’ll highlight some of the major points (note: there are a few SPOILERS ahead, so proceed with caution). The demo itself is about fifteen minutes in length and starts off with main characters Joel and Ellie running into a bit of trouble on the road as other survivors side swipe them, sending their truck barreling off of the road.
The gameplay then picks up as the two get their footing in a convenience store that becomes quickly overrun with other survivors ready to attack. Joel and Ellie then work together as a team to take out the waves of adversaries demonstrating:

A very tense, deliberate overview of the unique AI for The Last of Us, how the balance of power between weapons creates an atmosphere of extreme tension in combat, exploring the environment and scavenging, and the relationship between Joel and Ellie.

The demo concludes with several minutes of exploration that take them outside to the vibrantly green overgrown world as well as an abandoned warehouse. Check out the screenshots below, all of which were taken from in-game footage of the demo.

is this gonna be a ps3 only or are the going to put it on the vita

Naughty Dog is Sony owned by the way to people asking if this will be released on the xbox.

Don't count on it.. it will probably use around 50gb of space like Uncharted 3 did.

Can't wait for this game to release.. Naughty Dog is one company alongside Hideo Kojima where i always look forward to game releases.

yeah this game is going to be epic.. it looks like there will be a co-op capability once the game is complete since theres 2 characters

no way would this be a vita release but this game looks amazing ... and thank god it's more matured then the uncharted series thumbs up to naughty dog ... can't wait!!!

I really hate the word mature.. The way i see it - If it makes you happy (mature or not) then go for it.
Ofcourse people (including myself) will disagree with you at times.. But if it makes you happy then go for it.

okay so let me rephrase... the story is a bit more serious as opposed to the uncharted games . uncharted with no doubt was a amazing game ... action, wit and humor and great acting but this game gives a older audience like myself more spice of seriousness

yeah to each is own but not everyone wants to play a "teen" rated game

same goes for movies
unfort. when something is pg-13 they can't go outside the box to please a larger crowd ( making more money )

I don't see why everyone wants a vita port of everything. Some games, like this, will be a hell of a lot better on your big screen.
