Hey all I thought this would be an interesting topic to see where everyones NEAR stats are.

So how many discoveries, games, players and miles has your Vita crossed?

Mine are:

Discoveries 351
Games 56
Players 91
Miles 26,988

my near doesnt work lol

I just switched back from my JP account so I'm at a clean slate right now lol

My near hasn't worked since launch, all I ever get is 'Could not obtain data for your location'.

lol yeah, well hopefully more people will post...i know there has to be more people that use NEAR...a few ppl on my friends list from this site use it frequently...anyways...you travel a lot for work or something? 26k miles...damn lol...

My job has me travel almost every week. Plus I went on vacation with my wife in may that took us 6000miles away from home then 6000 back.

I havent really used it, i live in england now and there is no one close by. I never really got into it when i still lived in the states either

About Near,how reliable is it,i mean that i bought vita last Monday,and i found 23 people near me that day,and today there were 226 people near me?Could it be?I have not got found any clarifying explanation about how near works.Anyone?

its kind of like a social networking app, it lets you find gamers "near" you that you can friend and find out who has games in common with you. certain games also support the app for in game content such as avatars and other stuff. It works perfect for me.

Thanks Darkknezz, but what i wanted to know was that how it works "under the hood".?Well it works ok for me too.But is really hard to believe that there is that much vita players around.Maybe vitas future is not that bad after all?

hardware wise it just uses the gps chip built intot the Vita by access the wifi network and finding local players NEAR you. How accurate that is I am unaware of.

Yeah it tells me there's about 20-30 people playing around me at any given time, but only shows about 5-10 people within 2-3 miles...I don't get it.

That is right,if i scan near my home,there is something like 230+ people around,then if I scan again let say 200-300 meters away from my home,there is only 10 people around.Which result should i trustThat's really bugging me.
