Register to remove this ad, it's free! PS Vita Update 1.65 was defunct and removed. Fear not, for it has been replaced by the properly working update 1.66 which is available now. The 1.66 update does pretty much the same things that 1.65 did, with the most notable thing being the addition of support for PSP Minis (for PS+ users). Outside of that change, you can also now disable the alerts that pop up when a friend comes online, new power save options are available, and caps lock was added to the PSV keyboard (double-click shift to enable it). If you haven't downloaded it already, you'll be prompted to do so when you connect to the net.
lets all face it .. they made this update to patch exploits .... this update is a joke .. you all know it ... i know .. THEY know it ... and for further updates don't expect something awesome .. cause their goal is for people hacking their vita to NOT. end of story
i know they absolutely dont want people to jailbreak the vita but honestly, why would i want to jailbreak my ps vita? and miss out on all the online features? the games are only 40 bucks, buy them used and it will be 30 bucks, i would jailbreak it but then no online gaming,no dlc,no party chat, no mesaging, no nothing, no online purchases, and btw, they will update the vita with cooler stuff, just wait guys, it released a few weeks ago, why wouldnt they update it with cool stuff to try to sell it more?
one - it wasn't released a few weeks ago ... it was released a couple of months ago lol ... second ... it's not that i'm condoning hacking ... it's not that the vita is hacked ... it has a homebrew program which i assume A LOT of people don't know the difference ... homebrewiing is just a way to kinda play a few sega games ... it's not like your able to play free vita games etc... a lot of people need to stop assuming that's what is going on .... they ( sony ) put out a update like that and your going to defend it ? ... it's like ummmm cmon now ... sony spoke about this update like a month before it's released making it seem that it was this big thing .... and of coarse i would understand why tons of people would feel that way ... it was a update not for us .. but simply for there own control so you can't do anything on the vita without them knowing what you do on it, simple as that. no one gave a flying shit for what was given to them with this update .. you can also assume they will update the vita with cooler stuff .... but don't expect it to happen anytime soon. many are going to now question sony's marketing tatic skills when buying a new product due to over exceeding many people's expectations ...
i know homebrewing is not the same as playing isos, i actually had a hacked psp you know, i dont defend this update cuz they said it was going to be a "big thing" and it wasent, all im saying is, its ok for them to try to prevent hackers from hacking the vita in any way shape or form, their losing money if people hack it, the problem is homebrewing leaves to jailbreaking, while some people claim "they never pirate the content and always buy the original" and just have the iso as a back up, its still not enough. the moyority of the people will still download freebies, homebrews are ok but they leave to jailbreaking,
