The wait for PSOne classics on the Vita won't be much longer, as Sony announced via their E3 press conference that they would be available starting in the summer of this year. Those of you that paid attention in school will recall that summer officially starts on June 20th this year, and ends on September 22nd. That's a pretty big range for them to fit the release into, but we'd imagine it will be near the front of that range. No word yet on whether all PSOne classics will be available immediately or if each title will be added individually over time, but Jack Tretton explicitly mentioned Final Fantasy and Tomb Raider among the games you'd be able to play right away. Which PSOne games are you going to play first?
yeah but what is the price point??? I think sony is feeding us left overs to keep the PSV community quiet. How long are we to put up with recycled games on such an expensive machine? I was disgusted at the lack of attention that PSV has so far had at E3.... I know better games are coming but even AC3 doesn't fill me with that much confidence it looks rushed to me... if at least they had included the bow and tomahawk in the PSV version I would have possibly bought it....
I've still got a PSP GO with 16GIG of nothing on it. So I wasn't that bothered. Any news on compatibility is good news I suppose.
yeah, honestly .. it's not a big deal .. yeah it's cool having the option of finally playing psone games but for most of us we have the psp to play FREE ps1 games on it
Yea I personally could care less about PSone classics for the Vita. I got FFVII on my PSP 3000 running HB and I have all the PSP games I'm interested in on my PSPgo. I just want some good quality titles for the Vita that are designed for the Vita.
OK for 1: I did NOT buy a 250 buck system to play games that were on the PS1 or PSP. Is it cool? Sure I guess. But really, this system was SUPPOSED to do "wonders" and all it does is play a handful of vita games( which are more or less boring in my OPINION) and unless you bought your psp games online eons ago, sony wants to sell them to you again on a 4 core system? 2:I'd love to see PS2 games on this system and ports of Skyrim ("scaled" down of course, and yes pun intended) and maybe even a portable Heavy Rain or something close to it on the go? 3: Where's all the major support? When will Capcom put Monster hunter on the Vita? OR Resident Evil Vita? (REV) If I'm gonna have to play older games, bring on Jet set Radio (Which SEGA IS releasing on consoles AND Vita), Panzer Dragoon, which would work out awesomely with the tilt/6 axis vita feature and also with the touch screen and doul sticks, and of course remakes of Gunstar Heroes, Guardian Heroes with multiplayer via wifi/3G and the like! In all honesty, I got the Vita so i could play Skyrim via link to my vita on the go, just to find out I cant "normally" and that Sony has a updated total of 4 games for Cross play?! horrid! Also, let me note that the only ps1 games I'd want to play ould be mostly the Working Designs games, ie: LUNAR: The Silver Star Story, LUNAR 2, jsut to name the major ones lol
if there going to put games on this ... i rather them take time to port ps3 games then emulate ps1 classics ... i have my psp to do this ... FOR FREE hahah
A little late to this but honestly why don't they just port PS3 games over? Why don't they just make knockoff versions of every genre like they did with the PSP? Don't get me wrong, i would love to have a bigger range of games to play(even if they are games i have already played) but this should be a side note to the invisible list of triple A games we will never get on the Vita
"starting in the summer of this year" .... it's half way through summer and there is NO word on when PSone classics will come out lol ...i personally don't care .. i have psp to play all this ... 5 inch screen or not .. but i know this will help the vita sell more which will benefit US ALL in the end ...
