A few PSP titles have been taken out of the PSN store due to possible Vita hacking concerns.
Homebrewer W.Ololo has posted that some enterprising hackers have been using the digital versions of PSP games Everybody's Tennis (a Japan/Europe title) and MotorStorm: Arctic Edge to enable the Vita to play homebrew games. The exploit does not allow for pirated games or let people tap into the full capabilities of the system. Using legitimate software as an end run around a console's security is a fairly common technique that dates back to the NES era.
Both titles have been removed from the store in an apparent attempt to address the situation. We've contacted Sony and will let you know if we hear anything on the matter.

That's just fucking great. The general public suffers from a few people's misuse and abuse of software and systems. I support hacking/jailbreaking as long as it to apply tweaks or freeware/shareware to the device. Homebrew games are fine too. But eventually it leads to pirating games, which is just shitty.

I don't think they've found kernel access yet, I'm pretty sure everything out there on youtube is fake. THe only thing that people are able to do right now is access the PSP mode of the system to use half byte loader, but can't do anything in the vita mode. It's pretty similar to the 3ds right now, as they can play flashcarts in DSi mode, but don't have access to anything in 3ds mode yet.

ah of course... i remember seeing something about that. I stand corrected

edit: after more research i discovered that davee indeed did not obtain kernel access to vita mode - he found kernel access to allow PSP CFW features such as psp iso loader and full homebrew access to be run
