Register to remove this ad, it's free! With Uncharted and Call of Duty being outrageously priced, are we prepared to pay the prices or bail on them and say we won't pay these prices? If we keep paying will they continue to raise the prices till they are the same amount as a PS3 or 360 game? I think they will. Any thoughts or opinions?
For me it depends on the game. There's no denying some games are worth more than others, but there's also a fine line between fair pricing and downright greed. If I've got gift cards laying around or it's just a game I really really want, then I'll shell out the cash, otherwise I won't buy a game until it's been out long enough to where they have to drop the price. And I'm a notorious online bargain shopper.
The only two reasons I will pay that much money for a portable game is: Their bigger and better than last generation's portable games, and I would like the Developers to continue to create awesome games. I mean if I were them and no one would buy my games at a price where I can make money from it, I would stop making games for that console and move on to another where I could make money
Honestly, straight up, no. I'm not paying that much for a Vita game. I already dished out fucking $400 for the First Edition Bundle + Warranty, then I need to buy a very expensive memory card, now $50 games? If this does happen, I will seriously consider selling my Vita for something more worth while that won't completely hemmorage any money that I still do have after buying the fucking console.
I really do like my Vita but I would consider selling mine if they expect me to pay $50. I just hope they aren't trying to get us used to $50 dollar games then every new game turns into $50 bucks.
like niko and fofo said ... depends on the game .. if it is a AAA title that looks amazing and plays amazing ... i will spend the dough on it esp if they continue to wow me ... we will start seeing ps3 graphical games on this bad boy .. so lets look at it like this ... it's basically like playing a ps3 on the go .. so why not spend 10 dollars less then a ps3 game ... its even better being able to play it everywhere you go
Well lets the get graphics that good first! And I talked to Sony and they regulate but donot set the prices, so basically Naughty Dog and Activision are being greedy with their names on them. I wouldn't mind it if the graphics were close but so far they aren't. Gravity Rush is the best we have and it's still the fair price of $40 from a store or $35 from PSN
Defo depends on the games. Recently saw Resistance on PS Store for £39.99. Wheras its like $37 or something on the American store. Unbelievable.
when games start to become 12gig's .... 20gig's ... poss 32 or even 64gig's !!( i hope ) then prices can in my opinion be 50-60 bucks ... but i guess well have to wait and deal with the prices :/
I sure hope Sony intends to make bigger memory cards if they do that, but then again i don't think i'd like to know how much a 200 gb memory card would costg considering a 32 gb is 100 lol i think i'd start buying the game cards instead of downloading lol
Games should be have a net worth based on single player campaign length, replay ability, etc. Just like with console games, I don't pay $60 for FPS games at launch because I don't can't play multiplayer. Games like Skyrim, on the other hand, I would feel comfortable paying upwards of $100 for.
it really depends on the game to set such a price uncharted was worth the 50 bucks but it also discouraged me from buy more games since i had to spend the extra on uncharted so it just depends
I don't even buy home console or computer games at $50 or $60, I wait till they drop. Vita games haven't dropped in price much, at $50 they'd take even longer. I'd rather just sell my vita and buy a used one a few years down the line when all the good games have dropped in the $20~ price range.
paid game appear more and more, whether a vita game reserve pay or not depends on your opinion. it is like Diablo 3, those who are not interested in it unwilling to pay money on it, while those who have played Diablo I and Diablo II regard the charging as a natural thing. Diablo 3 Gold
I agree that they are outrageously priced BUT they are part of a huge series so that would explain some of the overpricing
Well honestly, for the "bigger name" titles (like your example of CoD), it's way too close to the console price. Most people I know would dish the money towards the console game. However, like it has been mentioned before, it matters on what game. Even so, I'd probably wait for the price to drop
