The console is pretty cheap at the moment, but i have never actually tried it. Only tried the older one, and dont know much about it.

So can anyone tell me if its worth it?
What kinda game do they have and is there something more i should know about?

I have an XBOX 360 and I absolutely love it! If you have a semi-decent connection you'll hardly ever lag, being able to have parties with 8 of your friends makes paying for online worth it, which is what most people complain about. Great games like Halo, never played PS3 so I can't really make any comparisons, but I have an XBOX 360 and I love it! Also, all the newer ones don't get RROD, which is great because I've gotten those before. :D . Tl;dr, Xbox is great!

The new ones still have a 20% RROD rate on them, so theres still a possibility that it will happen. Still it's a lot better than the previous 45%. If you take care of it then the Xbox can last a long time. I've had one of the original pro models for almost 6 years and it works just great. I would say the Xbox has a much wider online community than the PS3 does in certain games, most notably the shooter genre. It's definately worth it if you have the cash, but don't cheap out and get the 4GB model, Get the one with 250GB, because most people will buy the 4GB and then buy another hard drive for it down the road, but the hard drive is $120 so you're paying an extra $20 for the same amount of memory. Just my recommendations from someone who spends a ton of time working with electronics. The exclusives are worth playing. The one downside to the Xbox is that you have to pay for the online, but honestly its definately worth it. Heres a few good games to go with it.

Halo, of course. You can get 3 for $10 and they're re-releasing 1 with updated graphics this November
Gears of War, which now comes in a three pack for $30, which has Gears 1, 2, and the bonus content for 2
Child of Eden, which given it's premise is surprisingly really fun

Just remember, as I tell everyone don't cheap out on electronics.

My white 360 has been running like clockwork for 2 years, and considering i leave it on 24/7 that's not too shabby. The 2 before that did RROD, but they were a few of the first models and got them exchanged for free.

I LOVE my 360, great exclusives you can't miss out on... like the Gears of War series, Halo series, Forza 3(4 soon) Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Ace Combat 6, Lost Odyssey, Dead or Alive 4, Fable, Project Gotham Racing, Ninja Gaiden 2...

i've had 2 ps3's and ended up selling them both because their exclusives just didn't match up to the 360's online.. but you get what you pay for. Anyways yeah, i'd say its worth it.

Thankfully, NG2 was only a timed exclusive. I'm going to pick it up for PS3 as soon as I beat the first one, in fact. I bought mine for Ace Combat 6 and Lost Odyssey.

But those i know that i can see on your list like: Left for Dead 2, Mass Effect, Fable, Dead Rising & the first GOW you can get for the PC. Most of the games you mentioned didn't really mean all to much to me.
Not really sure i wanna buy an Xbox just to play GOW 2 & 3

XBox is simply amazing:) If you are thinking to purchase it, don't give it a second thought.
Also, get Kinect with it. It'll give you live game playing experience.
I get games for my xbox from gamefly.

I have a PS3 and a 360, and I play my PS3 much more than I do my 360. Most games that are worth playing are multi-platform these days. If you would have asked me a couple of years ago, I would have said it would be worth it to own both consoles, but as it sits now, if you have one or the other just save your money and buy some more PC titles . BTW, one thing that really bothers me about the 360, (and it may just be me), is the controllers. They feel really cheap compared to the PS3's, and I can't understand why they had to put the analogs off-set from each other. The PS3 controller is very natural to me, both analog sticks are right next to each other, very comfortable.

wow, I couldnt have a more different opinion...

The 360 controllers have a little weight to them, they're ergonomically shaped and I could play with them for hours... when I had a ps3 I hated the cheap, plastic, weightless controller... and having to bend my left thumb down to the bottom right didn't feel natural at all... having my right thumb lean to the left and the left thumb lean to the top left felt way better... also the controler is horribly shaped, there's nothing ergonomic about it... it feels like 2, 4inch poles welded to both sides of a rectangle block... the controller literally hasn't changed since the PS1... inner parts of my hands were sore as hell after any length of playing (or im sure they were)

As for exclusives, I felt xbox dominated alot to begin with as it came out with alot of stellar exclusives right from the launch (project gotham racing, dead risihg and halo 3, gears of war and forza soon to follow) alot of great exclusive games but now Sony have had time to build up their list of exclusives and things are looking evenly matched...

I'd have to say it'd be better to own both consoles if you have the money.. both have a nice selection of exclusives.

I agree COMPLETELY. I HATE the PS3 controllers. They're just so uncomfortable to hold. Basically everything you said in that post, I completely agree with. I can't really add much though, seeing as how you covered basically everything!

Hey, the guy asked my opinion, I gave it to him. If you don't like the PS3, whatever, that wasn't the question. The guy asked if it was worth buying one this late in the game, and I responded "If you would have asked me a couple of years ago, I would have said it would be worth it to own both consoles"
As far as the differences in the controllers, or games it always comes down to personal preference. To me the 360 controller is bulky and a piece of junk, just like theri console is,and what's up with that funky d-pad and those cheesy bumpers? Come on man, fix your console already. 54% failure rate after 6 years on the market? Really? What can I say, after having 3 360's break on me, I guess I'm a little pissed at micro$oft. Save your money man, or get used to your console breaking every 5 minutes. And, no they didn't fix the problem with the slim 360, but now it's just called the red dot of death.

Controller wise I would much rather have a PS3 one than an Xbox 360 one. I just like the feel of the PS3's controller a lot more, but thats probably because I never owned the original Xbox and grew up going from PS1 to PS2 to PS3, and the controller didn't really change much throughout the years.
